Deniro · Legal
Terms of Service
Version 1 · updated 2026-10-31
The short, plain-language terms of using Deniro — for sellers and buyers.
THE BASICS
1. Deniro is a marketplace platform. It never charges commission on your sales — 0%. Sellers are independent businesses; buyers pay sellers directly via M-Pesa.
2. You must be 18+ to run a shop, and you must be the rightful owner of the phone number you sign up with.
FOR SELLERS
1. List honestly: real photos (or clear emoji stand-ins), real prices, real stock. The stock counter is authoritative — overselling is technically impossible on Deniro, so keep it accurate.
2. Prohibited: anything illegal in Kenya, counterfeit goods, weapons, drugs, adult content, financial scams, and anything that would get your buyers arrested. We delist first and ask questions after.
3. Fulfil what you confirm. Disputes that are upheld against you earn strikes; 3 strikes = automatic 1-year suspension (checkout blocked, removed from The Market, public banner).
4. Platform services you may buy: credits for Boosts (KSh 150 / 7 days at the top of The Market) and the PRO plan (KSh 300 / month: unlimited listings, sales CSV export, storefront analytics). Credits are platform services, not money, and are non-transferable. Top-ups are approved against a real M-Pesa payment to the platform's own Till; duplicate or fraudulent top-up codes are rejected and may suspend the account.
5. You keep your customers. Deniro's tools (shop link, order tracking, reviews, analytics) are for transactions ON Deniro — harvesting buyers' details to run the same trade off-platform using our data is not allowed.
FOR BUYERS
1. Pay only the payment details shown on the shop's own checkout screen — never a number sent to you in DMs. Deniro order tracking codes (LL-…) are your proof of purchase; keep them.
2. One M-Pesa confirmation code = one order. Submitting someone else's code, or a made-up one, is fraud and will be reported.
3. Disputes are one per order, and go through the Report-a-problem flow with the evidence attached. Abuse of the dispute system (extortion, fake disputes) earns suspension.
THE PLATFORM
1. Availability: we engineer for uptime and survive spikes (surge mode), but the service is provided "as is" during this launch period. We will always tell you honestly what is degraded — see the announcement banner.
2. Changes: these terms may be updated; material changes are announced in-app before they take effect.
3. Governing law: Kenya. Disputes with the platform itself go through the in-app support first — we answer.
